"The New York City Council has approved funding for
a 4th year. Through this funding the AAHBP program has been
expanded to other populations at risk for hepatitis B, including
Eastern European, African American, and Latino communities.
Due to expansion of the program beyond the Asian American
population in NYC, the program name has changed to B-free
NYC"
"The
NYC Hepatitis B Program has screened over 8,000 New Yorkers
and has vaccinated approximately 2000 at-risk individuals
since its inception in 2004.
